UE5.5 - Retarget skeletal mesh to a skeleton with different scale and reference pose

This solution maybe works with identical skeletons, but not with ones that have different root scale and reference pose (such as MakeHuman) - in that case the root scale breaks down to 1 and the meshes become tiny (10 times smaller than they should be). Is there another way to do this, other than manually fix hundreds of meshes in Blender?
