Hey Gang, ever since UE5.5 has been available (including Preview build)
Refractions in the Path Tracer have been rendering incorrectly, which results in a double image within the translucent Material.
I heave learned 2 things:
- If you have refraction set to 1 the issue goes away. (Giving you no Refraction)
- If you set Opacity set to 0 the issue goes away. (Giving you refraction, but no option for varied translucency)
Neither option is acceptable, I need to be able to do both. And either how the PT wants a translucent material has changed, and I am missing a critical piece of information. Or this is a bug, and needs to be resolved. I have tested this issue both with content I have built in older versions of the engine, and with new materials built directly in 5.5.1.
Here are links to how a Scene shot through a Glass Material Renders in 5.5, and in 5.4. This issue has prevented me from using 5.5 at all, since most of my work revolves round the Pathtracer, and I cannot understand how this issue passed through to release without being caught, that tells me that there is another option that I am missing, but I have no idea what it is, and not a ton of time to dive in and debug.
