So I’ve been debugging this for a few days now, I can get my project to package on 5.5 but it crashes after the intro video, from what I’ve worked out so far is its the engine isn’t packaging all the assets, my project is around 8gb smaller on 5.5 when packaged vs 5.4x, the following error is due to the engine looking over and over for a asset which it can’t find inside the pak files.

m having a similar issue, i have been able to get it to package, but it is crashing on opening.

Yeah, as I mention in my other pose. UE. 5.5 shipping build is just broken. You can either switch to development built. Or if you need shipping for mobile or whatnot, you are screwed.

Enabling Use Io Store
in the project packaging settings solved the issue for me.
This issue can be replicated easily in the Architecture Collab Viewer template - Create fresh project from the template in UE5.5.1, package and run it → Fatal Error due to stack overflow.
Enable the Io Store, package and run it again → Works as normal

This fixed a crash I was having.
Another “magic checkbox” that has to be switched to prevent a crash. Hope they fix this one soon or at least update the template so it does not crash by default!

Fixed my crash, spent almost 3 days trying to figure it out
Yep so this bypasses the issue but the issue is due to something they have changed in 5.5 which is messing up the packaging order inside the pak files.
