The i9 14th gen processor was there from the start
Go into the BIOS of your motherboard and check which BIOS version is currently installed. For 13th/14th gen CPUs, there were issues with CPU degradation that were fixed in September last year, and overall system stability was improved. You should have at least version F12 installed for revision 1.0 or FK for revision 1.x.
If the version is outdated, update it to the latest one. During the update process, the system may reboot a couple of times, and at a certain point, you might see just a black screen without the OS loadingâwait about 10 minutes, and if nothing changes, just reboot manually. This happened to me too, and itâs normal.
Next, completely uninstall UE5.
Use the Gigabyte Control Center to double-check that all drivers are installed correctly.
Install the Nvidia App and get the latest GPU driversâpreferably the Nvidia Studio Driver, as they are more stable.
After installing the graphics and other drivers, restart your PC.
Then reinstall UE5. After installation, create a new First Person project and test UE5 functionality specifically on this default project, not on your custom one.
If none of these steps help, I suggest using TeamViewer for further assistanceâotherwise, itâs just random error-hunting at this point.
the bios version is FH and how to check for revision?
You still have an old version of the BIOS from before the fixes related to degradation were implemented.Z790 AORUS ELITE AX (rev. 1.x) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Ukraine
also i checked for revision number i am not sure if this is it
SMBIOS version 3.6
The revision is written on the motherboard; you have version 1.x.
ok so now what should i do? follow the steps you mentioned?
i saw and it had 1.1 written on it
Look, in its current state without an update, your processor will slowly degrade over time, gradually becoming slower. Also, Iâm not sure your processor is even functioning correctly right now due to the outdated BIOS firmware. It is highly recommended that you follow the steps I described earlier.
Okay i will follow them and let you know
The BIOS update process is fairly simple:
- Take a USB flash drive and format it to FAT32.
- Download the BIOS file â for your system, itâs âFLbâ. Unzip the archive and save the file to the flash drive.
- Plug the flash drive into a USB port on the back of your computer.
- Launch Q-Flash â it can be accessed either from within the BIOS or before the operating system loads, similar to entering the BIOS.
- Select the update file â for your system, itâs âZ790AORUSELITEAX11.FLbâ.
- Then just follow the on-screen instructions.
ok so first i should do this then the other steps you mentioned right?
Yes, BIOS update first, everything else afterwards
Ok i will let you know what happens then
@DoubleCatPunch my project has finally opened and has also been able to package
i had updated my bios and changed my driver from game to studio.
Thank you so much for your help.
Congratulations! I hope you wonât encounter such problems in the future .
Wishing you successful development!
