Just moved on UE5.4.2. And after some time working on my project discovered some issue. All root motion animations are playing flipped via asset player:
First time you open animation it plays right despite it is not right on the floor, and all next loops as you can see is wrong.
But all is fine while PIE or package a project.
Character have a Mixamo skeleton. And root bone is kinda flipped:
And it all worked fine in 5.0,5.1, 5.2.
I can flip a root bone in right direction via 3ds max. And this will turn character like it should be. But the direction of root motion is always wrong.
Also if I bake animation to FK or Control Rig it bakes fine, I mean it plays fine in level. Guess there is some bug in anim player, but if I take SKM_Quinn_Simple, make root motion via Mixamo it plays fine.
