Hey there @iHad169! There have been some reports of slate window bugs in Arch-Linux environments. Do other text entry boxes in the engine work appropriately?

I have the same issue as the submitter… when using Wayland I can only reproduce this issue when right clicking → All actions for this Blueprint. Keyboard input is not recognized. If I move cursor to corner of my screen for application view and then back to UE it will work.

Keyboard input also works just fine if I drag off of an existing blueprint node → Executable actions.

No issues whatsoever when using X11.

Garuda Linux / Wayland
This is reproducible on UE 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4

Hey there @Fubar433! Welcome to the community! I’m seeing a number of users reporting the same over Wayland as well. I’d report the error on their side as well as ours:

https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/support/report-a-bug

me too

I tryed Garuda Linux, Manjaro, Bazzite have same issue.

same not work appropriately :sob:

Also, UE5 use ibus and fcitx input method on X11 and wayland same cannot enter chinese.

Cannot use Fcitx Rime input chinese

I found a workaround:
In the system-settings under “Legacy X11 App Support” you can allow apps to read keystrokes, if you set it to “always” the inputs work for me. I guess its an issue with wayland because its a popup, BUT it is a security-risk, so be aware of that.
