UE5.1 Non Retargeted Skeleton Mesh Enable Root Motion Not Working

Hello, I am in UE5.1 and I created a new Skeleton vs retargeting onto the default Manny rig. I have imported animations which have root motion working in the Animation Sequence, but when I check " Enable Root Motion" my character still appears to be walking forward vs staying at the origin which I believe its supposed to be doing. Everything I find online has solutions when you are retargeting an animation, but I have not retargeted anything.

When I play the game my character is moving forward but I see it snapping back and forth because of the root motion not working properly.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

Firstly, make sure in your Animation Blueprint that you have selected “Root Motion from ______” to match what you’re doing- typically it’s ONLY montages. If you want to use it for everything, use “… from Everything.” This will not use Root Motion IF you do not have root motion enabled on the animation, however!
