UE4 window freezes in the background

Hello,
I just recently got back into UE4 and was greeted by these weird freezes that happen randomly when there’s another window on top of UE4.
For example I open Chrome to check something for about 2 minutes and when I minimize Unreal is completely frozen.
It is completely random as it can go without freezing for hours, even minimized. It stays at about 10% CPU usage and 100mb RAM usage. Happened about 10 times in a span of 2 days.
I thought at first it was some issue with it not waking up because of the option to use less power in the background, but it still happens after turning that off.

Any ideas on why this could be happening?

I remember using version 4.11 on my previous projects without any issues. My current project was freshly created on 4.13 therefore I’m unable to test it on the previous version.
It hasn’t although frozen at all today, making me think that it somehow magically resolved itself.
Will follow up with more info if it does happen again.

Hello Kristusea,

Since you mentioned that you’re returning to UE4, do you remember what version you were on previously where you didn’t see this issue? Have you tried reverting to that version just to see if it may be version specific? Could you provide your dxdiag information? It’s possible that this could be related to your graphics card or graphics driver, as some setups have issues even if they would normally be able to run the editor without any issues.

Also, does this only happen in a particular project or any project that you use? Does it also happen with the Epic Games Launcher?
