Hi Everyone,
Recently I have been noticing a lot of issues is UE4. First of all, in my game, my main character has a gun which is a skeletal mesh. Whenever I try to move it about the viewport, it glitches all over the place. Another problem that I have encountered is that all of a sudden my first person character won’t move. None of the movement keys work. The enemies won’t move at all either. I then restarted my computer and when I opened up the engine, my main map was gone. This is where I had everything spawning. Lastly, I have been experiencing lots of crashes. At least a few crashes a day. This is very upsetting because I have been working hard on my game for awhile.

I think nobody can find out what you did with your game and computer. you need to prepare some pics or videos so people can see those dramatic events you said and can help you.
if you are careful and try not to access invalid memory you must not experience a few crashes a day.

I’ll be happy to assist you further. Unfortunately, however, I’ll need much more information about each error if we are going to work out what may be occurring. It would be best to create a separate post for each error you are experiencing. So, if you could, please create the following posts and we’ll keep this error as the gun jittering:
- Character won’t move
- Movement keys do not work (this may be tied to the character not moving)
- Enemies not moving
- Map disappeared
- Editor crashing when (describe what you did, if you have different crashes, please make separate posts for each different crash type).
In the case of the gun jittering, how are you attaching the gun to the skeletal mesh?
- What steps are you taking to reproduce this on your end?
- Have you accounted for AA or motion blur?
- What is your current framerate when playing?
- Do you have the gun attached to the skeletal mesh to move with the mesh?
- Do you have any animations that may be causing a problem when attempting to blend?
All I know is that the gun is attached to a socket on the character’s right hand. That is how I move the gun and rotate it. It was working fine at one point. No animations are involved in this process.
BTW, I have created separate posts for each topic. I really appreciate your help!
