It would be nice to have something like nightlies for UE4. Sometimes I spend hours on trying to reproduce a bug which is already fixed in the master branch, if I could simply download a nightly and see the bug being fixed this would be a lot nicer. I can’t compile the engine every few days because it takes like more than an hour on my PC, so having nightly builds would solve this. I heard way too often on the answerhub “I were able to reproduce it <newest stable version>, but the bug is fixed in the master branch” and the issue was marked as resolved, and 2 times this was not even true but I could not check whether it’s true because I can’t compile the engine every time. I could, but its just way too much work.
Please give us nightlies I just found a bug and I think it could be fixed in the master branch since I think I remember a commit that sounded like it could fix this, but I’m not sure. So what can I do now, either try to reproduce this bug in a new project to submit it as a bug report on the answerhub, might take 5-10 hours since it’s not easy to reproduce (am already trying for one hour now). Or compiling the master branch myself, takes like 2 hours in which my pc is almost unusable because compiling always takes 101% CPU. Or just hoping that it’s fixed in 4.9.
Would be a lot easier with nightly builds where I could just download the latest version and try myself whether the bug is fixed or not
