UE4 Mannequin Texture?

Hello Friends

I’m 3D concept artist and sound designer and I’ve just started using the UE4 .
https://www.artstation.com/artist/payamtavakoli

for study and understanding the character and animation section of UE4 , i exported the UE4 mannequin in fbx format and bring him to 3D Coat and add some texture and sci fi detail to character…

and now i need to setup the texture on UE4 character again in Unreal Engine … I think i have 2 way :

  1. Bring back all new character Mesh and texture to UE4 and add UE4 mannequin Bone and skeleton to the new character with new Texture!

  2. I could load UVs from new textured character (obj / Fbx ) to UE4 Mannequin Mesh to add texture with new ( 3D Coat auto uv mapping ) UVs.

=============================================

I need to help how can i do one of these 2 way ?
OR
Is this a better way to doing this job …

Thank you Unreal Engine 4 community and All new friends in UE4 forums

If you changed the UV of your model, you’ll have to import it in UE4. but if you didn’t touch the skeleton, you can import your mesh with your new UV and keep the initial UE4_skeleton. (use the FBX format if you can).
You can use anything from the UE4 skeleton and just change the mesh.
(Your first idea, in deed ^^)
I never heard anything about importing only the UV in UE4 :slight_smile:

Edit : if you need some pictures about how to do this, don’t hesitate to ask ^^
