UE4 Kite Demo Inaccurate System Requirements?

I was looking at the system requirements posted for the demo and it recommends 24GB RAM. Is 16GB not enough?? I only have 8GB atm but just thinking about the future. Also is the recommended specs referring to an AMD 6 “core” or an Intel i7 6 core?

Target Specs

6 Core CPU @ 3.3ghz
RAM: 24GB ???
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 ?? (Didn’t the Titan X only manage 30fps?)
31GB HDD free space.

Min Specs

4 Core CPU @ 2.8ghz (dual cores can’t run this? I have a quad core but just wondering)
GPU: GTX 680/770 ?? (I have a 270X which is equivalent to like a GTX 760)

24GB is right for in editor. I opened all sub maps, and it consumed around 21GB to 24GB of memory, I have 32GB so no issues

they say 24gb in case you have all the elements of the level open in the editor(32gb would prob better for that though), I have 16gb and I maxed out with about 3/4 of the level assets open in the editor, you can still however play the level in the editor in drone mode with just the initial map open without all the landscape elements loaded

Definitely refers to an Intel CPU, a quad intel for min and a hexa for target.
Ram I’m not so sure about, i loaded all the maps and it only uses about 12 GB ram, while others are reporting running out of memory with 16GB, although they’re probably using a bit of that for other stuff so they don’t have ~12GB left(?).
GPU, I’m getting around 25-30 on an overclocked 980 TI, so 980 is not going to hit 30.

Just loaded all the maps again, about 10gb this time. So I think the 24gb is required for the first time if you try to load them all, while its building all the distance fields and compressing textures and such. Because it definately hit 21gb the first time for me.

Probaby, I didn’t check first time. It did increase to 16.7GB for me while I was away leaving the map running in Play though.

I opened with 16GB and I eventually crashed. I have a tiny page file too so it did well to last as long as it did

You can run the standalone one without such high specs though, and it performs amazingly.

So I can open it with an Intel i5 3570 4.3ghz, 8GB RAM and R9 270X (equivalent to GTX 760)?

I think if GTX 980 can’t hit 30fps then the requirements should be changed to reflect a GTX 980Ti or Titan X.

With 16G of RAM work but at move around the map you will got slowdowns, and with a 780GTX work too the demo at 21FPS (All in Ultra, in minimum probably you got more than 30FPS) one of the big problems here is the ground textures and the high polycount of the map.

But hey 30FPS more cinematic, realistic and better XD (Thanks you Ubisoft)

ATM you can recommend better setup because there don’t are much better hardware, thanks to the mobiles, tablets, and others things, the desktop industry have a big slowdown this decade…

Well Pascal is expected to hopefully be a massive jump over current tech.

Well that say last time Nvidia about Maxwell and i don’t see nothing of that, like the DX12 over DX11 now looks like only give from 2 to 5 or 10 like much FPS more and at the first are over 20 or 30 more…
