Hi, I’ve installed UE 4.13.1 from the Epic Games Launcher. When I click launch button for the Unreal Engine it waits for a few seconds, button becomes unclicked again and nothing happens. I tried verifying the installation and nothing changed. When I tried to open the executable 4.13\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor.exe it shows the following error message:
Any help appreciated.
I have the same problem!
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks
Andre
Didn’t quite have the time to try it but it seems that visual c++ redist and visual common tools may be missing for me. Will try and notify you afterwards, could you also look at the error message you get by running the executable, is it the same?
Hey, good news, I tried and it works now. What I’d done is that firstly I uninstalled all the old versions of c++ redist and installed the latest from the microsoft site. Then I installed visual using the install visual button inside the unreal engine itself. At first it gave an error but suprisingly all went well with the second try and now both unreal engine works and I can create a new project. Cheers, hope it works for you!
Thank you MirakodusD for your help!
Unfortunately mine is still not working. I can’t find the button for installing visual inside unreal engine.
I couldn’t be sure now, but I may have skipped a step while writing. Install button probably showed up when I managed to open the engine but before I was able to create a project. If the error message you got is the same as mine, I downloaded a dll file from the web into system32. msvcp140.dll is missing? Download it for Windows 7, 8, 10, Xp, Vista, 32 or 64 bit - Fix4Dll.com was the website, and I can’t ensure you if it’s safe or not, but no problem so far with my pc I can say at least. If you want to play it safe, you may try copy-pasteing from a friends pc maybe? Feel free to write again.
Hi MirakodusD,
I’m happy to hear you were able to resolve the error you were experiencing. I am marking this as answered for tracking purposes.
