I get this error as soon as i click launch or double click ue4 icon. While installing i got a windows error at 66% saying epic games launcher has stopped working but after i opened it again it resumed from 66% and continued. Please help me out. I’ve downloaded the dll file where should i put it?

If you had an error during your installation, it’s possible that the installation became corrupted somehow. Could you please try verifying your installation using the Epic Games Launcher? If you open the Library tab and the select the down arrow beside the engine installation in question, there should be the option to verify. After this runs, please try launching the editor and see if works correctly.
What kind of window is coming up when you get this error? Is it a window from UE4 or one from Windows? Could you take a screenshot of the window? I’m currently trying to determine where the issue lies, as it could be something missing from outside of UE4.
Did that but it didn’t work. Will I have to install it again? Or can i just paste this dll file somewhere so that it will work?

Thank you for that. This does seem like a Windows issue but I should be able to help. Searching for that file on my computer came up with it being in this following location:
C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-u…rsalcrt-apifwd-win7_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.23303_none_4e5c9e3785a6634a
Since it seems that the last folder name may vary, try searching for the file called “api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll” and place it in the same folder as that file.
The funny thing is that the file which is already present is newer[4 July] and the downloaded is old[18 April].Should I do it?
Also since I’m in the systems folder how do i paste with without having a permission problem.This is my own pc.
Well that is definitely odd, but that begs the question as to why you’re getting this message in the first place. It shouldn’t matter which version of the file you have as they should be same either way. You should be able to look up how to get access to these files by searching the name that Windows is telling you need permission from.
When you go to replace the file, be sure to make a backup of the original .dll in case any other errors occur.
We haven’t heard from you in a while, Supro_1996. Are you still experiencing these issues? If so, was my last comment of any help? In the meantime, I’ll be marking this issue as resolved for tracking purposes.
