UE4 Editor crash during launch

The editor crash every time I try to launch it. I try installing the older version 4.11.2 and 4.10.4, but they both crash too. I did a clean reinstall but same result. I didn’t have any problem launching the editor a while back after I did a reformat on my PC.

Hi Ruu Chiengu,

It appears the crash is occurring when it gets to the XAudio2_7.dll. A similar issue was resolved on the following post:

Unreal Engine 4.8 doesn’t produce any sound

by installing: DirectX End-User Runtimes

I suspect this may have been corrupted when you reformatted your PC. Try this and let us know if it does not resolve your issue.

Apparently installing DirectX End-User Runtimes didn’t overwrite the corrupted file. I had to manually delete the XAudio2_7.dll and reinstall it. It WORK! Thank you Steve.
