UE4 download stops at 59%

Try the following solution:

First of all, Make sure you have atleast 10 GB free space in the installation drive (and 1 or 2 GB in OS drive)

If that is met, continue with following steps.

Assumptions:

ENGINE_DIR = C:\program files\unreal engine[version]\

STAGING_DIR = C:\program files\unreal engine\Launcher\PtachandStaging…[version and some other stuff]\

  • When the download stops, quit the launcher. Goto STAGING_DIR, copy everything in that folder.
  • Navigate to ENGINE_DIR. Paste everything here. (If warned about duplicates, overwrite/merge)
  • In folder options, disable ‘Hide known file extensions’
  • In ENGINE_DIR, create a new text file. Rename it to ‘$MovedMarker’ (without quotes and no extension). Windows will give you a warning, press OK.

Restart the launcher, and after syncing, click on “install” again. The laucnher will go through a verification process and restart the download at where it stopped previously (percetnatge will say 0%, but look at the remaining file download size)

Hi everyone,

I’m new to ue4. Just subscribed and wanted to downlaod the engine. But it always stops at 59%. When I restart the launcher and try to download it again it stops at 58%. I already tried different versions of the engine. I have increased the timeout values (as suggested here). I have tried to install it on a virtual machine. I have wiped my system (needed to be done anyways).
But nothing did help me to download the engine. I have tried to download it at a friends computer. It worked flawless. Anyone knows how I can download it?

No it doesn’t work. It verifies my files, starts downloading (1.8Gb instead of 3.3Gb) but again stops downloading when 1.1Gb remaining.

I had my computer running all night. At some point in the night the downloadmanager gave me the message that it was unable to download and that I should retry to download later.

I have taken a look at the log file, But I didn’t really find anything useful. This seems to be the part before I quit the update:

But I have absolutely no idea how to get things done. I now try to download all files from my friends computer (which should take me quite some time with his upload of 56Kbit).

EDIT: I got access to a laptop. It seems to be my local network. I now Try to download the engine somewhere else.

Ok, I got the problem somewhat solved. I used hotspot shield vpn to download the engine. It seems to be my provider.
