Hi!
As I have mentioned above I have a project which is 90GB file size on my main SSD running windows 10. For the past months of working with it, nothing really bothers me much until now, when I want to retarget my skeleton to another skeleton or move files in the engine it causes me a blue screen crash which makes my computer restart without any messages.
I have 12GB ram with intel-i5 2.3GH CPU. My graphic card is GTX Geforce Invidia 1050. I think shouldn’t be a problem. But, why is this happening? It really bothers me to do my work. Because when it comes to (copy, duplicate or move) files. It crashes my entire computer. I never experienced this kind of situation before. This is my first time.
I have found the cause of the crashing issue. Recently, Windows 10 has an update which reset back most of the settings. For some reason, Unreal Engine 4 is not really friendly with the Windows Security Real-Time Protection. Letting it enable causing the Engine fails to compile stuff. Simply means, if you compile something in the Engine the Windows Security will recognize it as unauthorized access to drive or something.
To fix this issue, I simply disable the Real-Time Protection for Windows Security and then, I can compile and used Unreal Engine 4 normally. I also found that antivirus and antimalware software also will give you the same issue.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAD THIS PROBLEM ALL DAY THANK YOU
Love to share my solution! I have spent days to figure out why this had happened to me. And I thought a lot of developers also experienced the same issue. So, I share my solution here, hopefully it will help others too…
