the heiarchy is all the same

I wouldn’t assume the mannequin rig exported from 3DSMax is the same as the original one exported from Maya. Even if the hierarchy is the same what matters are the orientations for the bones. But if you don’t remove all factors that have the possibility to cause issues (and thereby isolate the real issue) you will never solve your problems.

I see no factor, seeing as all the bones are facing the same direction, in 3ds max and on UE4, and the rest of the bones are fine whe I import, it’s only the feet. and the skeleton is the same as the original mannequin.

But Unreal Engine treats things in its 3d world differently than how they were set up in the other 3d modeling programs. That’s why when importing in from other programs we have to make certain adjustments. Unreal Engine dose’t assign lightmaps to Blender models, so you have to make sure its got a lightmap baked first before importing or you get a black model when the lighting is built… Because there’s no 3d modeling program within in the engine itself and so those other programs have set their 3d worlds up differently than Unreal Engine’s has been
coded to do while these other programs have been coded to do things different to how the engine likes it. . . Had Unreal Engine had its own built-in3d modeling program we wouldn’t be having all these export/import issues that come when using third party software programs. This is why you run into issues with importing things into the engine from other programs. Not all the data gets transferred or you may have to make
adjustments. Even on Turbosquid, they say that converting from one model file format to another is no guanretee that it will 100% convert or that you won’t lose any modeling data during conversion.

Almost as bad as the poor targeting with the BSP Geometry system which dosen’t always Pick up every single face of BSP Geometry
when converting it into a static mesh. It dosen’t always convert every face properly…

So there are issues and limitations in the engine. (especially with the BSP Geometry) but that’s just one example I found when using the engine.

Well if there was nothing wrong it would work. And it’s not working so something is wrong. If it’s the bone that’s the problem the most likely possibility is that something is wrong with the exported rig (especially since you’re changing it on import to use another one). It could also be a problem with your skinning (mesh).

It probably was the skinning, cause I re skinned him on a reimported version of the skeleton and it works fine.

Thing is, now i’m getting a failure to package error, I tried packaging in html5 and windows and both give me errors.
Any clue as to what it could be?

You’ve got a space in the folder name, try removing that and update redirectors.

Yep, I see the space issue as well. Its in the directory pathname. And on every line where that space is there are errors…

Does he have any Red Circle file reference errors popping up in the log that might point to Project or Engine Content ? (reference errors)?

I fixed it by creating a new project and importing everything into it. It packs fine now, it must have been the project file.
I’m a bit stuck on a detail though. This is the second time I run into trouble with the attack launcher with.
