Hi, for the past 3 days I built a procedural building with instanced static meshes in blueprints and it was complex to make it fully adjustable. I opened up the editor today and made some mesh changes and dimension tweeks. I could place the blueprint in the world and adjust all parameters. So I duplicated the blueprint to change the meshes to have different building styles. once I got the look I wanted, I closed the editor to activate VR and the Editor keeps crashing and won’t open the project , in either VR mode nor standard mode in the FPS template. So how do I import the uasset blueprint into another project so I can keep working , or it isn’t able to be done.
Lucky I duplicated my original blueprint, because the duplicate blueprint was copied and pasted into the new project folder and opened in editor and was able to be placed into world with no problems.
Hello seandennis,
I am happy that you were able to move the asset and keep working. If you still require assistance I would more than happy to help narrow down what issue it was that was causing your crash. I have a few questions to that effect listed below.
Quick question:
- Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project without the use of the assets from the crashing project?
- If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
- Is it possible that you created an infinite loop inside the construction script?
- Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints that may be involved with this issue?
Hello seandennis,
We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.
Thank you.
ok, I haven’t had any other problem. I’m not sure if a node got deleted and caused a infinite loop. but before closing the editor I did duplicate the BP. If I have any other crash, I will try to recreate the problem before posting.
Hello seandennis,
That sounds good, I am going to change your comment to an answer until we can advance with this issue. However, please feel free to update this post at any point that you have additional information and I will be more than happy to assist you further.
