Hi!
Trying to install UnrealDatasmithMaxExporter_4_19_18_3, there’s a problem that always appears saying that No supported version of 3ds Max have been found I’ve installed 3ds Max in another Disc than the Windows one, and I don’t know if there’s any way to tell the installer where he must look for the installed version of 3ds Max.
Anyone with the same problem or any solution to this?
I don’t have this issue and both my Max and UE4 4.19 are on E drive.
But I keep having error msg “There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or packa…” (yeah, it ended there) and won’t install. Edit: I solve my issue by assigning “everyone” to have full control of %temp% folder.
Ok. founded a way. Just hard copy-paste your entire 3dsmax 201X folder into your C drive ProgramFiles/Autodesk/… and the installator will find the correct files. Then Manually copy from the new Folder “Plugins” to your currently working plugin folder:
If you are using Max 2024 we do not have an official support for it. Will come with 5.3
You could have a look at the link I gave here 3ds max 2024? - #6 by UE_FlavienP
Thanks for the update. Should we use the latest version of the Exporter for UE 4.27? Or still use the one that matches version 4.27. I’m trying to install the 4.27 Exporter, but get an error saying: “No supported version of Autodesk 3DS Max has been found”. Max is definitely installed on my machine.
Each exporter version only supports whatever Max versions were available at the time. So your 4.27 exporter will not detect latest Max versions.
To detect Max2025 you will need to use the 5.4 version of the exporter. You can try to import udatasmith generated from that exporter into 4.27 and see if that works.
