UE4.10 IOS Crashing after splash screen

Hello everybody,

Currently my app is working ok with an iPad Air 2 but I’m trying to get my app working with several devices such as iphone6 & ipad4. The scene is quite complex and I’ve already been optimizing it to meet the minimum requirements for each devices. (no HDR or stationary lights, textures below 1024x1024)

The issue is that I don’t have access to an IPad 4 or an iphone6 for testing porpouses but rather an Ipad Air 2 & iPad mini (firstgen).

Second issue is I’m on Windows platform and can’t debug properly, but I managed to get some information.

My question, is there any particular thing that makes a device crash apart from memory issues from textures or bad meshes/oversized UMGs?

The below code shows this particular line that I have no idea but I suspect It might be causing the issue.

Solved

IOS devices (old ones) really don’t like many UI images (35+) inside individual widgets. Scaling down, making them power of 2 and compressing them to DXT1 format (not ideal) solved the issue.

Also creating an unique widget with all the images inside and calling them individually when needed helps too.

Would be nice to have the option to remove UMG Widgets from memory, couldn’t find a way to do it.
