UE Crashes after Booting

When the engine launches an empty/new project, after 10 to 20 seconds it stops functioning and opens the crash report screen. Before anything is shown on the crash report screen the entire system freezes and requires a hard reset. This does not happen with any other similar software. I tried UE 4.25.4 and many other versions and the same issue occurs.

System: Windows 10 - CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX3080 - RAM 64GB - SSD 1TB

(This system is new and this is the first time I installed UE on this PC)

Hi Adberf

Can you provide the log when you get the crash.
It can be found: …/YourProject/Saved/Logs/

Thanks

Alex

Not the original poster, but I have the same problem. Same specs on my new tower, but only half the ram (32GB) and it does the same thing as the original poster. I’m attaching the most recent log to this message.

If you want anything more, please let me know.

Okay, for anyone who stumbles on this like I did, my problem was solved by disabling “Auto-Hide taskbar in desktop mode.”

Oh, also use WIN-CTRL-SHIFT-B to reset the graphics driver. Don’t need to hard reset the computer then.

This is a stupid solution. It works. But it’s stupid.

Hey guys, I actually just deleted the game driver and installed the studio driver from Nvidia. It fixed it for me.

I has Nvidia studio driver, but I updated yesterday and today I have the problem agin. I use the option about diable “Auto-hide taskbar in desktop mode” and it works. Thx Scors

That is the strangest thing I heard! Do you mean that you had your taskbar on auto hide and now you keep it normal (so it doesn’t hide) and it fixed your Unreal Engine from crashing?!
