UE Content Visualization with up to 10 mil. Polys?

UE4 is a prime quality gaming engine.
For long cgi companys with its product visualisation focus stuck to prerendered contend from maya or max.

There´s been the wish to move to realtime for quiet a while and im sure the upcoming revolution in Virtual Reality will encourage this trend.
The problem is that those companys have to work with teselated manufacturer data.
I´m talking about an walkaround presentation of statik meshobjects with up to 10 million polys in a scene.

Is there a way or interest of UE to expand the application area and compete with programs like autodesk VRED?
