UE 5 Shadow Flicker like noise

Hi,

Im not sure why is this happening. but ive tried some of the solutions i found like ray traced shadows. Still the shadows are flicker like noise in a crt tv. anyone know?

  • What engine version are you using?
  • Are you using Lumen?
  • Do you have virtual shadows enabled?
  • Is there any post processing in your scene?
  • What solutions have you tried so far? (For process of elimination)

  • What engine version are you using?
    – im using 5.4

  • Are you using Lumen?
    – Yes

  • Do you have virtual shadows enabled?
    – Yes

  • Is there any post processing in your scene?
    – Yes, only for highlighting (like silhouettes in objects)

  • What solutions have you tried so far? (For process of elimination)
    – tried the changing AA method to TAA (solved the issue with shadow noise like on crt tv)
    – for flickering, still cant solve. ive also tried the ray cast for shadow still doesnt solve.

Sure.

  1. in Project Settings β†’ Rendering β†’ Default Settings β†’ Anti -Aliasing Method, set to TAA
  2. in Editor Preferences β†’ General - Performance β†’ Screen Percentage for Desktop renderer, set to manual
