Hello, I’m trying to get a dedicated server launched using the steam subsystems but I’m running into a problem getting the server to actually start. I have compiled a source build of UE5.7 and installed and enabled Advanced Sessions to my project, I have enabled Online Subsystem Steam and have setup my Server.target.
My problem is when the server is started I get 2 warnings before the server fails to launch. The first one is “STEAM: Unexpected GSPolicyResponse callback” and the second warning is “OSS: Async task ‘FOnlineAsyncTaskSteamCreateServer bWasSuccessful: 0’ failed in 15 seconds”.
This will happen if I’m including my steam_appid.txt file inside my server build location, if I don’t have that file the server starts but will not allow any connections to it even manually trying to connect to the server on steam I’ll see a connection accepted message in my server log but steam tells me it did not find any servers on the address (I’m assuming because it’s not being recognized as a steam server? All the ports that need to be opened that are mentioned online are forwarded in my router settings ). I have tried enabling the Steam Sockets plugin and changing my defaultengine.ini to work with it but that has ended in the same issue. Putting in a picture below showing my defaultengine.ini:
Just to clarify my steam app ID and moddir are correct. And below is how I’m creating my server:
I have tried packaging the server build in both development and shipping as well and am including my steam_appid.txt in the build locations folder so it’s reading the correct ID. If anyone else has run into this issue and figured out how to fix those warnings it would be appreciated!
