UE 5.6 Runtime Virtual Texture Not Working.

Hi there! I’ve been struggling for months with runtime virtual textures while using Bushify on my landscape. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I followed tutorials and I always ends up with my landscape turning black. Any help would be greatly appreciate!

Here what I did: https://youtu.be/sGYRFLMbn6o?si=UTLLO818QjoEIGFs

Thank you for your time.

Alright! I found the issue. The material was using the RVT from the auto landscape material. I udated the function material with the my RVT and it worked. I add some screenshots to show what I did.

In the material, double click to open the material function.

Inside the MF, add or replace with your RVT.

I hope this will help anyone who’s running with the problem. Cheer!

You certainly helped me!

Yesterday I added VRT to the project following this Brushify video and it worked perfectly. But when I added the Brushify “Natural Roads” package to my project I was hit by the “Black Landscape of Doom”.

I spent hours trying to fix it. I had a hunch that adding the Natural Roads pack had overwritten something essential, but I couldn’t figure out what because I thought I had copied all landscape-related Brushify files to a project directory: Landscape automaterial, Material Instance, Layerinfos, RVT material function, Landscape & Height Virtual textures.

And then I found this thread mentioning MF_RVT_Landscape and checked if I had indeed added the virtual texture to the function… and found that my copy of the landscape material referred to the original material function, which had been overwritten.

So, thanks a ton for taking the effort of adding your solution!
