UE 5.6 - Movies not being packaged

Hello there,

I have ported my project from UE 5.5 to UE 5.6, since the movies folder does not import it’s content anymore despite the configuration still being correct.

I have tried to reimport the movie files, played with the Packaging settings, used the new and legacy project launcher … Nothing that I tried was successful.

The logs do not mention the missing files and I am a bit lost on what I can do to fix this issue.

Here is a screenshot of my packaging settings:

Any help would be appreciated.

Note: The movies appear correctly in the editor but won’t appear when running the packaged version of the game.

While logging using UnrealPak.exe I see the following references inside the package:
LogPakFile: Display: “RogueLike/Content/Movies/PreMenuVideo.bk2” offset: 46931968, size: 68031555 bytes, sha1: 6E2098AE16B1A4149D6DDB072AE208C5D2584D6E, compression: Oodle.
LogPakFile: Display: “RogueLike/Content/Movies/Shop_Background.bk2” offset: 349546496, size: 52021916 bytes, sha1: 52A07C53348C8C5B69F50195E6CA746273988E9B, compression: Oodle.

Which are the two videos that are not displaying. I do not see any mention of their .uasset that are as well in the Movies folder.

Probably related to this bug.

I do have the RHI crash with DX12 as well. (The entire editor crashes).
I was able to go around the crash by forcing DX11 for the editor viewports.

Thanks for your reply.
Unless there is a way for me to apply the Licensee’s fix myself, I will be waiting for an engine update.

Its still not clear if this will be in the hotfix. But you can follow along. I’ll try and remember to check in on this from time to time. Feel free to @ me and I’ll look at the internal JIRA.
