UE 5.6 landscape (nanite) build, lots of bugs and problems

Problem 1

If make any changed to the landscape and build the nanite data in editor all is ok but in stand alone game all tessellation is gone.

Problem 2, critical

The landscape I made in UE 5.5 after build the nanite it bugged out.

Same happens if make new one from the heightmap the editor exports for us.

After many hours of trials and fails I found out that this happens if the quads of the landscape size is not equal, like 505x505 (default). UE 5.6 exported the heightmap as 820x694.

Due to this also crashes occurs sometimes when go landscape mode.

Did anyone had this problem or is just me.

I have the same problem. I really like 5.6 but I can`t using it with these bugs. I will wait for 5.6.1.

Exactly The same issue, in 5.5.4; Landscape and everything include water body ocean Plugin work fine but after I switched to 5.6, Project became a nightmare.

Thankfully I had a Backup! :smiley:

same issues here. hope 5.6.1 will solve it.
small landscapes (1 landscape mesh) do work. also larger landscapes seem to work in an open world. not tested with heightmaps.

I just updated in version 5.6.1. Unfortunately the bug is still here.

I can confirm as well that 5.6.1 did not fixed yet this problem. By the looks of things seems this is only going to be fixed in a newer version, not update.

Now it asks all the time to resave the map even if build the landscape and save. Is a like a continue loop.

Same problem as everyone else.

I have a 10km x 10km open world map/landscape. Looks beautiful in 5.5.4. Spent 3 years sculpting and smoothing everything out.

Tried to upgrade the project to 5.6.1 and my entire landscape is jagged, requiring a full global resmooth which will take years. Unbelievably frustrating. Never saw this in 5.0 through 5.5.

In 5.5.4, I tried turning off Nanite on the landscape before upgrading to 5.6. Didn’t help at all. Removed everything in the scene but the Landscape, with nanite off, and still it looks unusable in 5.6.0 and 5.6.1.

THIS IS GAME BREAKING AND NEEDS A FIX ASAP. HOPING 5.7 FIXES THIS!
