UE 5.6 isn't listed

Hi

I’m unable to find the 5.6 preview release listed in the Epic Launcher. Is this release not available to everyone? If not, how can I debug this so I can try it?

Hello,

The Unreal Engine 5.6 Preview release may not yet be available to all users in the Epic Games Launcher, as preview versions are sometimes rolled out gradually or only made available to users who have enabled early access settings.

To check and try the preview release:

  1. Open the Epic Games Launcher.
  2. Go to the “Unreal Engine” > “Library” tab.
  3. Click the “+” button to add a new version of Unreal Engine.
  4. In the version list, if you don’t see 5.6 Preview, make sure you’ve enabled the option to show preview versions:
  • Go to Settings (bottom-left corner of the Launcher).
  • Scroll down to the Unreal Engine section.
  • Check the box that says “Show Engine Preview Versions”.

If you still don’t see version 5.6 Preview after enabling that:

  • It might still be rolling out gradually or is temporarily not publicly available.
  • You can follow official announcements from Epic Games on forums.unrealengine.com or their official Twitter/X account to see when it becomes widely available.

Thanks, but I don’t see a section for Unreal or any information about engine versions in the settings window. Guessing that was a GPT generated answer.

Why is this marked as resolved, when it’s not?

I have the same issue.

Hey there @qrsdqr and @OmniFace! Welcome back to the community! Give your launcher a quick (full) restart, then add an empty engine version:

Does the preview appear in the drop down now?
