UE 5.4 Shader compiler Errors

Ok i will give it a try, I have been running the 2 latest ones so far as I had updated the graphics driver today but I will try some rolled back versions.

Be sure to use DDU, otherwise some old parts of the drivers can linger causing errors.

Question: Are you on a 13 or 14th gen intel CPU? They have microcode instability problems that can also cause shader compiler crashes.

That need to be fixed with a bios update.

I use 12th gen intel and my computer specs are quite powerful

I will also be switching over to the studio drivers instead of the game ready drivers (Nvida graphics card) as I have read that they are more stable in Unreal then the game ones (or at least can be).

I did that but it didnt entierly fix the issue.

I am currently getting this error UATHelper: Packaging (Windows): LogWindows: Error: appError called: Assertion failed: uint32(Allocation.BaseIndex + Allocation.Size) <= StructMetaData.GetSize() [File:D:\build++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\ShaderParameterStruct.cpp] [Line: 276]
UATHelper: Packaging (Windows): LogWindows: Error: begin: stack for UAT

The driver that I am now using is from June of last year

While I haven’t fully fixed the issue yet, it appears I had 2 issues. The first issue was the graphics driver as you had mentioned and the second issue appears to be caused by corrupted windows 11 files.

I had a bad windows update after the 24H2 updates.

I used windows media creation tool to do an in-place reinstall keeping all personal files & programs.

I only had to reset the default apps. Works like a charm, if an update makes the system unstable (had around 3 blue screens of death daily before the reinstall)
