UE 5.3 Heterogeneous Volume rendering only left eye in VR preview

Hi all,

Do any of you know why the VR preview mode (Oculus Quest 2, with OpenXR, via Oculus Link) only shows the render of a Heterogeneous Volume (smoke) in the left eye? Any help will be greatly appreciated as I don’t know how to solve this.

My best regards

Same problem, did you manage to solve the problem?

I’ve run into this problem as well (using Vive XR Elite using OpenXR plugin). Is there any more info about this?

Same here… v5.3.2 Quest3 OpenXR. Only displaying in left eye. Using Differed Rendering.

I noticed that Niagara will also only render in one eye as well. I guess VR support for the new particle systems may not be fully supported yet for VR. Cascade seems to work in VR thou. Not sure how much longer Cascade will be supported after 5.3.2.

Niagara works fine for me in VR (basic particle systems).

Hmm. Interesting. I wonder what I am doing wrong. Have you tried it while using Lumen and Nanite at the same time. I am using Differed Rendering.

No such luxury on Standalone VR  (Quest 2/Pro/3) I am with forward rendering.

Thanks for the tip. maybe I can get the VDB’s to work by switching to forward rendering as a test. I would lose Nanite and/or Lumen thou.

I don’t know about Lumen in VR. I have 4060Ti and performance in a simple scene is bad, it doesn’t look great either.

Hi all, did anyone get VBDs rendering in both eyes for VR?
