UE 5.1 World partition - Actors unload after PlayInEditor, gone in Outliner

Greetings. I can’t be the only one, but I also can’t find any topic about that?!
I started with a new level and the Open World template, I added a tiled Landscape, SkySphere, yada yada…

Any time I add new actors to the scene and hit play, there is a chance that those actors just vanish from the Outliner back in Editor mode without any message.
It happened after I added and modified the BP_SkySphere. I was still able to modify the BP settings and see the changes in the world but the actor in the Outliner was gone. After a few edits the editor just crashed. Reloading the version before Play I had my SkySphere back in the outliner. I managed to prevent this by giving the BP the Instancing HLOD layer of my World.
I had a similar thing with the WaterBodyRiver actor.

Now, I understand there is something I have to set up to make world partition behave accordingly. But is there ANY DOCUMENTATION about this??? I mean, not all the wonderful features but the problems you’ll have if the setup isn’t proper enough?

Because I still don’t know if I’m doing the right thing. Why do I have to organize the HLODs for actors by myself? What is the point of world partition when it is able to organize External Actors for the grid but fails with preserving my OWN hierarchy in the Editor?

I’m so confused about world partition at the moment. Especially because it does a lot of behind the scenes things, that I can’t recognize. Simultaneously it completely fails at helping ME with MY project?!

I also find this annoying. To make the default example map basically ‘vanish’ anything you put in it, is not a great way to get new users familiar with the system

You can right click on the asset in the outliner, and choose ‘pin’…

Its broken asf now. For me it dont even unload landscape proxys, only actors on it. And it eats memory for whatever reason.

Cheers mate. That was the little extra thing I would have never thought about.

Just wanted to add for future readers - you gotta uncheck “Hide Unloaded Actors” in the Outliner Settings first - to even see your unloaded actors!

After that you can’t use the Pin icon on the left to the object in the outliner, you actually have to right click and “Pin” because it’s greyed out.

Ridiculous! But at least now I can get my stuff back. What a friggin mess…
