UE 5.0.3 crashing

UE5 crashing when play button pushed. When I go to project settings and try to type in ‘motion,’ before I get the letter ‘t’ typed in, it crashes. When I attempt to render a video, it’s crashing. This just started last night, same project, changed nothing, it’s just continuously crashing.
Are they working on this, or what’s up?

I’m experiencing the same thing. I was working on some retargeting and had multiple crashes. I also had quite a few crashes last night I suspect a lot of people are but we just haven’t heard much yet. We need some hot fixes I think.

I can’t even open my project since 5.0.3 and getting various error messages. Not sure why. I can open new one and I can open the project from 5.0.2, but once we updated the project to 5.0.3 it crashes on load.

I’m getting the same thing - there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the crashes either lol. Sometimes its when I’m importing with data smith, or when I’m saving and closing a material tab. Hopefully some hotfixes soon!

I keep getting the error message that I do not have enough memory space when attempting to open some projects. I have over 2 terabytes of space available. It’s an issue they really need to fix, or at least tell us that they’re working on it.

  1. Is you graphic cards updated? If it is updated try to reinstall the update.

  2. try verify Unreal engine.

  3. try to reinstall Unreal engine if it still not work.

  4. try to install and run Unreal Engine 4.

Brand new machine, i9, 12th gen, RTX3090.
It’s only happening on the City Sample project and the City Park Environment one. Everything is else is fine. It has something to do with the latest update to 5.0.3. I filled out a bug report but haven’t heard back from them yet.

Epic really needs to fix or roll back 5.0.3, asap, this is ridiculous. Seen numerous posts of same where people cannot open projects after updating 5.0.3 Opened a ticket, nothing. Completely removed UE5 cleared everything reinstalled, same. Newest NVidia drivers. It has something to do with animation compression, deleting the animation causing the crash only reveals another, then another, so on 1 for each crash. With hundreds or thousands of animations this is not a fix.

Same trying to do the epic mega jam wanted to use ue5 but trying to fix this has already put me back 2 days

I’ve got the same problem. Any solutions?

Lumen is causing Multiple Crashes on Shipping Builds on Nvidia cards. We have a large cross section of RTX cards and Lumen is causing crashes and freezes on all of them. Also crashes and Freezes on losing the D3D Device errors. When are we going to see a fix???

I am completely new to UE, and 5.0.3 is giving me intermittent crashes too. 4.27.2 seemed to be pretty stable on my machine. Since I don’t see 5.0.2 in the list of engines, I’m going to try 5.1.0 p2 and see if it improves. Unfortuante as UE looks a lot easier for me to grasp than Unity…

my unreal engine 5.0.3 keeps crashing and I have no idea why, I use a lenovo legion with 3050ti graphics card
this is the error message
