Right click the launcher or installation file, whichever is giving you this error,
and click “Run as Administrator”

Unless you really are in Safe Mode…
Restart your computer, and if you get the option to run windows a certain way, for example: “Safe Mode” or “Start Windows Normally”,
pick to start it normally.
A previous system crash may have gave you this option,
but after a certain amount of time the PC will pick on its own.
iam in windows 8.1 not widows 7 there is no safe mode man and unity 5 work on my PC 100% bu i like ue4 better so plz help me

Please try the troubleshooting suggestions found on this page, specifically under the “I am unable to install the Launcher” section.
Also, if you have any anti-virus or security software, try temporarily disabling it prior to installing the Launcher.
it did all the steps in the “I am unable to install the Launcher” section.
but thats happend so i think the proplem with the msi file opener but how can i fix it

- Place the msi on the root of C drive
- Press WindowsKey+R and type in the following line:
msiexec /i C:\EpicGamesInstaller.msi /L*V C:\EpicGamesInstallerLog.txt
Once done, locate the file EpicGamesInstallerLog.txt on your C:\ drive and attach it to your reply.
Press WindowsKey+R and type in the following line:msiexec /i C:\EpicGamesInstaller.msi /L*V C:\EpicGamesInstallerLog.txt

Can you check two things for me? Can you go to Control Panel > Users > Manage Users and check and see if you’re an admin. Also can you try setting you “User Account Controls” settings off and see if that allows you to download?
