I have downloaded UE 4.7.1 and i start a new project but i have a message showing telling me “Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource” i have the INTEL I5 and 6GB of RAM what is the problem pls help me!
GPU:INTEL (R) HD GRAPHICS FAMILY
UE4 requirements are huge, intel HD graphics wont suffice I think… “only” 6Gb will be a problem too, I had to upgrade to 16 Gb 2133Mhz to really be crash free with building and such things on big scenes.
This is not Unity 4, this is UE4, the most powerful/capable engine on this planet, several month ago it was strictly reserved to the professionnals of videogame industry, keep that in mind. I only have a reasonable framerate (scalability “epic” & 1080p) with a GTX770 on most projetcs samples.
I don’t even hit 60 FPS on Elemental most of the times.
i7 3770k
16 Gb 2133Mhz
GTX 770 (lattest drivers)
Hello UEHero,
As Deu_sex states below, it’s possible that your computer may have more trouble running the engine, especially when building due to the graphics card and the limited ram. If you’re receiving a complete error log, or call stack, please provide that to us. However, I’ve included a link to UE4 FAQ as well as the requirements to run the engine.
What are Unreal Engine 4’s system requirements?
For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reply to this thread.
Have a great day!
Cool, Now i want to buy a new Graphic card (Nvidia Geforce) But i have a Laptop not Desktop pc So how can i connect it to it?
Laptop GPUs cost a lot more than than desktop GPUs and are a lot less powerful. That said, if you really want to persevere, you will need to take your laptop apart, and install the GPU inside it, and then put it back together. This sounds a lot more frightening than it really is. It takes a lot of unscrewing and unplugging.
HOWEVER, this is assuming 1) your laptop has the space for it, and 2) the PSU can power it. Neither of which is certain.
Laptops are designed to cram everything into a very mall space, and it is unlikely they will have left somewhere for a GPU. The PSU is designed to provide as little power as necessary, so there might not be the power left to push a GPU.
My advice would be to take your GPU money, and build your own desktop PC. Bit by bit, you can upgrade, over the years. You can reuse things like the hard- and even the screen as a monitor. Alas, this piece of advice is probably not helpful.
Go back to the company that you bought the computer from. They should be able to tell you by how much you can upgrade your PC.
the specs of my laptop are this (i think) :
GPU:Gforce GT 555m
CPU:Intel(R) Core™ i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
Memory: 8.00 GB RAM (7.95 usable)
Is this enough to run it cause i am having the same problem.
Doubtful. Laptops are under powered. It really is that simple. In your specific case, the GT 555m is the biggest problem. More likely to overheat, than to get much done. CPU and RAM, though technically meeting requirements, are also at the low end.
but if it meets the minimum requirements should it not be able to function? Cause i am pretty sure it does
