Hi,
I have an old project in UE 4.27 in which I can access the Options menu from either the Main Menu (which has it’s own map with the menu widget) or the Pause Menu (which is a widget being called in any level). The Options Menu is the same widget being called in either Main or Pause Menu. However, when I open the Options Menu from the Pause Menu, all the sounds are old versions that got replaced later. When opening the Options Menu from the Main Menu, all sounds are correct, but when opening the same widget from the Pause Menu, the sounds are wrong.
I deleted everything but the config and content folders in the project and the problem still persists. I deleted the UE DDC and the problem still persists.
How can this happen? I can’t even see the old Sound Cues in the project, since I saved the new versions with the same name and deleted all Autosaves and so on. Any idea on how I might fix this?
OK, I’m getting closer, it seems the problem is not related to “old” Sound Cues playing, but to the Enveloper in Sound Cues not working correctly. The new versions of the Sound Cues use the Enveloper extensively, but none of that has any influence in-game (when the Options menu is opened from the Pause menu, see above), so the problem seems to be that the enveloper does not (always?) seem to work in -game even if the Sound Cues play correctly in Browser or Sound Cue previews… Gonna try to use new envelopers next - maybe UE didn’t like that I copied envelopers from other sound cues?
Couldn’t get the Sound Cue enveloper to work correctly in this context, so I used a DAW to change the original sound. Not a big problem and since I never had similar problems with metasounds in UE 5 I guess this is not worth the effort for anyone to look further into it…
