UE 4.13.2 doesn't show any menu

I’m working on Unreal Engine 4.13.2 and I was working without problems until yesterday, when I update Windows 10 to the last version called ‘Creators Update’. Since that, all in-editor menus are “invisible”. I say “invisible” because if I move the editor, the menu appears to be in background.

I read that other people has the same issue in other Windows 10 version and that ithad been resolved, but it seems that the error has returned.

Anyone has the same issue?

Also, I want to share the dxdiag file if necessary: link text

Hi Jamarin,

If it has been fixed, the fix would be implemented in a later version of the Engine such as UE4.14 or UE4.15. Please try opening a blank template project in one or both of these two later versions of the Editor and let me know if the problem persists.

Also where did you read that other users had the problem in Windows 10 and that it has been resolved. I cannot find a bug report for this or a post reporting this earlier than this one. It would be very helpful if you could point me to the link.

Thanks,

.

Hi!

First of all, thanks for your answer.

I try to open a new blank project in UE 4.15.1 and the problem is solved. But in the 4.13.2 I can’t work because this issue.

Here is the report that I said before: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-36752)
Here the link where user report the issue: Editor menus open but are not visible - Community & Industry Discussion - Unreal Engine Forums

Thanks Again!

Download and install UE4.14.3 where the fix has been made. Launch UE4.14.3 and open a copy of your current project. DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR ORIGINAL PROJECT. Then work from the updated version. There will likely be some errors in your blueprints you will need to work out, but ultimately this is the only way you can work with the fix.

-Unless you are working from Github, in which case you can request the changelist for that specific fix and integrate it into your custom build. This is not possible however through the binary version in the Launcher.

Hello,
i have the same issue and i have specific project where i want to continue to use 4.13.2 and not a new build. Is there a fix for this version or should all versions prior to 4.14.3 now be considered dead with the new Windows Version?

This issue affects versions: 4.12.5, 4.13, 4.14. so all versions prior to 4.14.3 should not be considered dead with the new Windows Version.

Secondly, it has been reported fixed for UE 4.14.3 so you could open a copy to see if it is the new version is problematic.

And as an alternative, you have the option to build the 4.13 version from Github (instead of the binary version from the Launcher) and then request the specific Change List that includes the fix for this bug so that you are still working in UE4.13 -but with a patch.

Hello. I have the same issue. I tried follow the steps in Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-36752) but I didn´t resolve the issue. I’m using version 4.13.2.

This issue appeared after the last update of Windows 10 on april.

I started a project with other partner. we are using GitHub and I dont know if I update in other version could be another problem.

Thanks!

Hi,
I have the same problem with 4.13.2. No menus will open, not even for rebuilding the lights. I’d use a different version of the engine but college uses 4.13.1 and we are expected to use the same version.

I’ve tried reinstalling but the problem is still there.

If you can’t or don’t want to compile from GitHub, run the editor with the -opengl argument. The menus work fine in OpenGL.

I’ve found if you open a new project then it works fine, just export from the old project to the new one.
