UDK crashes for seemingly no reason, even if I'm not doing anything in it

It appears to be failing to find files that should definitely be part of the install. Try verifying the install in the unreal engine launcher.

Hmm, my gut reaction is that your hard drive may be going bad. If you launch it now does it crash on startup?

I don’t believe that my hard drive is going bad as UE is the only thing that force closes. It’'s a relatively new harddrive (around a year) and it hasn’t given me and problems. Here are the errors I’m getting now.

Looking into it - this crash has been seen coming from other users. So it’s not something isolated to just you.

The log files copied here appear to be those for the crash reporter itself, which currently moans about not finding various content files.

Glad to know that it’s not just me, I can stop tearing my hair out trying to start something and just be patient. Would posting my pc specs/OS help in finding a common issue maybe?

Can you also grab the editor log from one of these two locations, should be called UE4.log

The crash appears to be in the code detecting when the mouse is over a UI widget (, it’s crash 204865 in the database). Have you noticed the mouse being over any particular area of the UI when crashes happen?

I found the editor log, however it won’t support the file type (it’s just a .txt which is strange) and it’s waaay too long to just paste in here, so I just took some screens of it and tossed it on imgur.

I get the crash dialogue, yeah. Sometimes it’s quick but other times I’ve got the program open for 10 minutes and it doesn’t crash. I couldn’t find a trigger for it, so I’ve just left it alone until someone finds a solution. Could it have an issue with Windows 8.1 64 bit?

Hmm probably unrelated then - I don’t think it has anything to do with 8.1 64 bit. That’s what I develop on at home.
