I am downloading udk because unreal engine 4 wont download properly so could someone tell me whats the difference between udk 3 and unreal engine 4? if you can answer I have more questions.
It’s not udk 3, it’s just UDK
UDK is a free version of Unreal Engine 3, Unreal Engine 4 is the most recent version of the engine which has a lot of new features and improvements
I have this small question which is related to this so I won’t start a new thread…
Is there any informations on how long UE4 will be actively developed and supported? I’m doing this virtual city project that might continue for a long time if all things go well. Just thinking how soon there is a need to change engine and how much work is going to be if blueprints landscapes c++ etc are incompatible in UE5.
They probably wont have a UE5 for years.
UE4 is pretty much brand new. And many companies still use UE3! (UDK)
So I believe you will be fine!
Good luck!

At least through this generation of game consoles–if they end up building a new separate version like Unreal Engine 5, you would still have access to UE4, it just won’t likely receive updates.
