Hei there,
Im currently having a problem installing the plugin for Rhino. Just getting this message: “Error Installing Plugin - Could not read the installer file.”
I have tried a solution as another user at the forum suggested:
I renamed the file from .macrhi to .ZIP, then unzipped that file and the renamed the file .rhp to .macrhi, then copy and pasted that folder in the ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/8.0/MacPlugIns, and it worked fine after I restarted rhino
But unfortunately it didn’t work.
I hope this would be possible to fix, or at least have a way around the problem.
Best regards Kristoffer
Hi @Kristoffer_Brun
Let’s see…
Reinstall the plugin to see if it’s corrupted.
Check folder permissions to ensure you have “Read & Write” permissions
Install the plugin using another user account to rule out user-related issues.
Check plugin compatibility with your Rhino version (8.0)
Utilize the Rhino Package Manager for a better installation experience.
Check the Console app for any error messages regarding the plugin installation.
Clear cache by deleting files from the ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/8.0/Plug-ins directory (after copying valuable files).
If none of these work, ask the plugin author for help
