The software loads and displays this error message:
"Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Check that your video card has the minimum required memory, try to decrease the resolution and/or close other applications. Quit..."
When I switch twinmotion from DX12 to DX11 I can open it again but, the path tracer is not compatible...
I have this error too. At the same time, skydomes and quixel scans (not downloaded) are not loaded. This is probably the root of the problem. But why have they stopped loading?
I don't know why, when you say delete skydomes it is: delete all the images with skydome in the DX11 file and reopen it in DX12? Because if that's the case the problem persists for me, but I have a lot of quixel textures in this projects
(I use only 2 different skydomes inside the project)
same issue with this method.. I just bought 32g of ram but I think it's not a computer problem, more a file or a Twinmotion problem... (I need to make this render for my architectural diploma) 😥
I had to switch to DX11 for the project to open up for me. On DX12 I had a bug like on your screen. In DX11 I threw skydoms, then saved (the project has shrunk noticeably) and now it opens in DX12.
I have the same problem with files larger than 1gb and smaller. I think it's not problem with the computer (I have an i7-11700 with a nvidia RTX 3070 ), but with the file. I'm trying to clean the file deleting unused materials and geometry, and sometimes works. But I think it is a bug on twinmotion.

Sometimes certain scenes require more memory than the computer has especially during the opening process, when working it is important to be aware of how much information and data is in the scene as the more is added the more hardware it might need. Opening the scene in DirectX 11 will use a little less hardware so you can typically open and remove unnecessary elements or problematic things from your file.
If you have a GPU with 8GB of Memory (VRAM), you need to check the performance settings (in Task Manager) when opening your file and see if you run out of RAM. If your RAM is too low it will be using the shared GPU memory to compensate, and if you run out of that memory you will see the error. You should have no less than 64GB of RAM (for a 1GB project or more) and increasing it will help avoid this error depending on the scene. I just have an idea ! I use OneDrive in my desktop and I have a bad internet connexion, you to ? (Because I think it's possible that the problem comes from the onedrive synchronization of the file with the Twinmotion cloud library, no ?)
I did the same. I opened in DX11, put the skydome in OFF and delete all the images with a skydome, the project has shrunk a little but it still does not open in DX12. Twinmotion is exhausting me 😑
