Twinmotion Crashes Constantly - UI Loads but when I do anything, CRASH

I had Twinmotion 2021 before and it was working fine on this machine.

Since last I used it, I upgraded to Revit 2023, but the DataSmith exporter wasn't available yet, luckily at the time I had no need for 3D Renders, but right now I have something important to conceptualize.

So I went ahead and did the following:

  • Installed DataSmith Revit Exporter for Revit 2023
  • In the meanmtime I uninstalled Twinmotion 2021, and let EGS start installation of TM 2022.2
  • TM finished installing so my workflow started:
    • Run Twinmotion, it opened - Good
    • Save-As (Blank Project), gave it a name, hit save, CRASH
  • So I restarted my PC and tried again, CRASH
  • Found this: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Twinmotion-Crashes-on-Launch
    • Didn't work
  • Found this: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Use-your-dedicated-GPU-with-Twinmotion-on-a-Windows-computer
    • I only have a dedicated GPU (Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti)
    • Changing Program settings in NVidia Control Panel didn't work
  • Installed TM 2022.1.2 (Previous version)
    • Started workflow, open TM, Save-As, give name, hit Save, CRASH
  • Tried removing Cloud Files from Documents folder, CRASH
  • Tried just opening an older TM Project, Crash

The UI loads and everything looks perfectly fine when I start, but as soon as I do anything, CRASH

I really tried a good number of these fixes but there is just nothing I can do to actually do my work. Twinmotion simply WILL NOT RUN at the moment. Like I said, Twinmotion 2021.1.4 ran perfectly, so for what it's worth I'm currently installing that, but this is pretty ridiculous. Totally unusable software in a time when it is absolutely critical for me to get to work.

My PC:

i9-11900k

32GB 3200mHz DDR4

1TB m.2 SSD

RTX 3070 Ti

1000W Gold PSU

Doesn't look to me like there should be a problem.

Please help me. đŸ˜¥

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. It seems like you have the MSI Afterburner with Rive Tuner installed or need to add a TdrDelay.

Here are the articles to reference:

Kind regards,

Thank you Vincent, I will look into these two fixes and revert.

Best Regards,

@Vincent Boutaud - Thank you very much for the response. After uninstalling Afterburner and RivaTuner, Twinmotion seems to be working fine. The list of apps and games affected negatively by Afterburner is getting longer still...
