Subject: Twinmotion 2026.1 FH2– Two material bugs breaking the SketchUp Direct Link workflow
Hello,
I use Twinmotion with SketchUp and Direct Link, and I would like to report two material issues in Twinmotion 2026.1 FH2 that break production workflows.
PROBLEM 1 – “Use scene material” option has no effect
When I import a second SketchUp file containing materials with strictly identical names (and the same number of materials – verified) as materials already configured in the scene, the conflict dialog appears and I select “Use scene material” + “Apply to all”. Nothing happens: the imported geometry keeps its raw SketchUp materials instead of receiving the Twinmotion materials from the scene. The dialog confirms the action but does not perform it. This worked correctly in previous versions.
PROBLEM 2 – Materials get scrambled after Direct Link sync when the material list changes in SketchUp
Example: a finished model (harvester) with all Twinmotion materials applied. In SketchUp I only rotate one part and add ONE new material (a logo). After automatic Direct Link synchronization, materials in Twinmotion are shifted to wrong surfaces and some disappear completely. It seems materials are matched by sequential index instead of a stable identifier, so any addition or removal of a material in SketchUp shifts all assignments. This makes client revisions (moving/deleting a building, changing a texture weeks after delivery) destroy the whole material setup of the scene.
Environment: Twinmotion 2026.1 HF2, SketchUp 2026 Direct Link, Windows.
Both issues are easy to reproduce. I can provide test files or a screen recording on request.
Best regards,
Vist.
