I’ve exported a Datasmith file from Twinmotion 2024.1 and tried to import into Unreal Engine 5.3, but the materials with custom textures aren’t translating. I’ve attached example images of a material instance and it’s parent’s material graph. These material instances don’t have texture slots and just appear with the default gray checker texture, and from the looks of the parent material it seems like it just doesn’t understand how to translate the TM material. However, after importing the datasmith file, it does appear to have imported all the textures themselves. I do have the Datasmith Twinmotion Content plugin installed and enabled in UE 5.3. Is this workflow just not possible?
Hi, With Twinmotion 2024.1, with the changes to the Datasmith workflow for exporting content from Twinmotion, exporting to a project in an Unreal Engine version prior to UE 5.4 isn’t supported. You would either need to revert back to an older version of Twinmotion, like 2023.2.4, or convert your project up to UE 5.4.
