I installed the 2024.1 demo and it worked fine for a few days then crashed for no reason. After the crash the program would not reopen. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still had the same problem. 2024.1 full release came out so I installed that thinking it would maybe fix the issue. Uninstalled everything Epic related, reinstalled and the program will not run. It crashes before the program can even open. Any ideas on a fix or what might be causing the issue. I’ve got an Nvida 4090, intel I9 and 96 gb of ram. Also 2023.2.4 opens fine.
Going to bump this up.
I have a similar, but slightly different experience, and made a post regarding it.
I can get 2024.1 to open, and i worked in it for the past 3 days fine. I get the same/similar UNHANDLED EXCEPTION error when I try to reload my Datasmith file.
I noticed that 2024.1 had an update this morning it (& forced) me to install. Still no joy reloading the file - so there goes my updates.
Good luck !!
I am also having issues with Twinmotion 2024.1. Instead of crashing it is very slow, even when opening an empty scene.
However, Twinmotion 2023.1 works just fine on my machine, but later versions through 2024.1 run super slow.
- Windows 11 (10.0.22631)
- GEFORCE RTX 3090
- MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI
- AMD Rayzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
- 64 GB RAM
Statistics show Twinmotion 2024.1 empty scene runs at 0 FPS, CPU = 100%, and GPU = 100%. I even deleted all objects from the scene but saw no improvement. I am not sure if it is just simply ignoring the GPU and not using it … but ver. 2023.1 does not have this problem at all.
I have tried filling out a bug report form but that doesn’t seem to work either.
It maybe related to your library assets or something remaining in your document folder. you can try to take everything from C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Twinmotion2023.2.4 and put it in a folder, and the restart TM?
I tried the fix you recommended but it did not work for me. I also started getting this error message that Twinmotion cannot launch.
Not sure how this is related to Twinmotion 2024.1 being very slow. Here is a link to my original post about that.
