I have just started using twinmotion 2024 and when try to add grass as i have in older version, it seems to be very thin looks pretty ordinary. i have to add lots of types of grass to fill it out which still looks really bad. Im hoping this is just a programming issue or i am missing something or doing something wrong.
hello tim. unfortunately, this is a current shortcoming present in TM. there are a few ways to workaround this. one is to paint grass with the paint tool, using a brush size smaller than 100cm. here’s another workaround video showing how to use the scatter tool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK0SvfIoPA8
the good news is that a new grass scatter is in works for a feature release of the software. it could be useful for you to go ahead and vote for this feature on the roadmap: https://portal.productboard.com/7pu88c9kpmqtzt8hwg6arujh/c/1195-smart-grass-material
I really thing twin motion is great, but still find myself bewildered by the fact that there is not procedural grass that can be applied to a surface as a material like other programs. For archviz placing, painting od scattering grass should be the one off for very specific views. You should beabl to just make a surface from your import or direct link grass and ajust its type pattern height and randomization. We have procedural clouds, but not procedural grass. Is there a reason this cant happen? It seems to be a very long running pain point.
