TWIN MOTION 2023.1.2 - GROUPING OF MATERIALS - WHY?!!!

Hi All, I have recently started using 2023 and am finding my model is coming through as just a pallet of materials and when I need to change the surfaces it groups all the objects with the same surface and changes everything, even when I try to apply it only to the object - It's driving me crazy! Anyone else know how to get my model to properly show up in 2023? I've done a load of work to the model and now I can't go backward to 2022, which is much easier to work with. Any ideas?

While I'm here, does anyone also know how to apply reflectance in 2023? The button seems to have disappeared?!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out in the community. It sounds as though the model is being imported using the 'Collapse by material' Collapse method, where the model is brought in to Twinmotion and grouped into meshes based on the materials applied in the source file. One solution to this can be to import using another collapse method, such as 'Keep hierarchy'. We'll have more information on this and other import options in our documentation here: Import Options

Another option can be to adjust the model's materials before importing, by applying a different material to each object that you would like to keep separate when importing using Collapse by material.

In regards to material reflections, in Twinmotion 2023 this property will now be the material's 'Roughness' value. Decreasing the roughness value will allow you to achieve the same effect as increasing the material's reflection in Twinmotion 2022. Please see our documentation here for more information on working with material properties in Twinmotion 2023: Physically-Based Materials

Best Regards,
