This tutorial covers some techniques on rendering hair and fur elements for compositing in external dcc applications with the purpose of achieving high fidelity hair and fur renders within Unreal Engine using the Movie Render Queue. Many of these techniques would also work with non-groom elements as well.
In this example, we use a Meta Human, along with some simple Quixel elements. The goal is to demonstrate using high fidelity settings for rendering Hair Strands in order to add post depth of field and/or motion blur in an external dcc compositing application such as Nuke or After Effects.
