Hi, now you can check this out on the Marketplace!
Link not working.
Oh, sorry I corrected that! Slice Skeletal Mesh Now in Blueprints - UE Marketplace
Can you send a new link, plis? It is down
Im a complete newbie but I’m interested in the same stuff. Any updates yet?!
what about project ill?! His Dismemberment looks dope!
is it voxel based or does he use the new cloth simulation for skin? After the shotgun shot in the zombie shoulder, the arm first still hang on a string of skin before falling apart?!
greetings and good work guys
@Chosker @n00854180t y’all still around? I come from the future and am trying to figure out this partial skin weight problem. Does anyone know if this “Slice Skeletal Mesh” thing from the marketplace works without skin stretching? It looks like it warns against using organic material.
Im still around but never looked into this topic again as I have no need for it currently, and didnt try any marketplace thingies
Probably the reason it warns against using organic characters for slicing is because the cuts will be flat/smooth.
That said I never came up with a good way to accurately fill the holes that my method created without manually creating extra meshes and weighting them to the character, which wasn’t suitable in the case of morphs without having to also make morphs for every wound mesh.
Slice Skeletal Mesh is probably your best bet though and what I’d so is just make it so that after the slice happens you add some gore bits and stuff to the capped part.
@Chosker @n00854180t I appreciate the help anyway! This thread helped me wrap my head around what should really be going on behind the scenes. I made it here by reading a forum which was talking about Chosker’s tutorial (404’d now) for Alt Bone Influences in UDK. Thanks for staying committed to helping the community
