Tutorial: Panel Cloth - Editor Walkthrough & Updates (5.4)

I understand about the deprecated nodes. I have adjust the values to do the same thing on my end, too. The main thing we wanted to cover, and where people spend most of their time is painting weight maps and creating selections. Those can be transferred using the workflow under the WeightMap replaces AddWeightMap Node in the 5.5 updates.

Nope! Definitely have not abandoned the USD workflow from Marvelous! We’re focused on integration with another part of the engine for 5.6 so that is taking priority at the moment!

Are there any plans to get this working with nanite?

this cloth editor has definitely got some ways to go before its up to par with any other cloth simulators in other DCCs like blender, houdini or MD. Having to repaint the weights on the mesh doesnt really make sense to me and having the cloth simulate around the physics asset basically makes it so the mesh simulates around the capsules or spheres or cubes or whatever your physics asset is comprised of versus the actual mesh of the skeletal mesh giving non realistic simuations. i really want this cloth asset to work but i dont think its there just yet for anything besides really basic garments and really simple animations. im talking like walk cycles only kind of simple

That’s awesome. I love that you guys are making improvements to the Panel Cloth. In the future, will Panel Cloth be able to support Niagara? Right now there are no Niagara Data Interfaces setup for panel cloths. In some case, 80-90% of my character is cover in Clothing, so spawning particles effects from the mesh is currently unavailable.
